Announcing our first #wcbuc speakers

IMG_8611We’re very excited to have received so many bold and interesting applications so far for WordCamp Bucharest!

The call for speakers is still open, but we couldn’t resist letting you know about some of the great proposals we were happy to announce right away.

alexandra draghici

We have Alexandra Draghici, coming from Timisoara, Romania, who is going to challenge the common knowledge about WordPress SaaS plugins. If you google „turn a SaaS into a plugin”, you will get the vice-versa result. Plugin developers consider going SaaS more often than SaaS people think about launching a plugin. But building a plugin is a quicker and more fruitful way of reaching the users of a specific platform, like WordPress.

In her talk, Turning a SaaS into a WordPress Plugin, Alexandra will be sharing her learnings while turning the established SaaS business 123ContactForm into CaptainForm, a new forms & survey WordPress plugin.

Our next speaker comes from Belgrade, Serbia and he is one of the community’s most charming members – chances are you’ve seen him crowd surfing at various WordCamp after parties.

Milan IvanovicMilan Ivanovic is going to talk about how to Change your theme, but, keep your business. He will share his story on developing a new theme for ManageWP and how they did this from scratch. You will learn about the whole process from early stages to the final switch: how they had to go easy with the changes, the slow process of updating UX and how they needed to lead the clients into a new design. and all the stress, pressure, and high feeling after everything was done!

Vali petcu

If you are from Romania, chances are you’ve stumbled on Vali Petcu‘s Zoso.ro blog. But did you know Zoso‘s site is running on WordPress since 2005? During this time he learned lots about the platform’s vulnerabilities and strengths.

Come hear his talk 11 years with WordPress from a full time blogger and freelancer dealing with web strategy, guerrilla marketing, content creation and journalism.

We have more great proposals on the list (spoiler alert) coming from developer masterminds, WordPress agency leaders and digital marketers. In total, there will be 14 speakers at WordCamp Bucharest 2016 rocking the stage. If you are looking to join, the call for speakers ends on August 31st. So you can still apply here!

The tickets are also up for sale, so you can go get’em! Remember to book your calendar for October, 8-9th.

Thanks for the read and do prepare a warm welcoming to Alexandra, Milan and Vali!
